How to use the Park and Ride
1. Park your car – The First bus will collect you from inside the car park , you can wait in the terminal building
2. Buy your ticket – Either on the First bus by card or cash , or via the First bus app
3. Keep your ticket , you will need this for the return journey and to scan at the barrier when you exit
The car park is operated by ANPR , if the barriers are open you can drive through, if down either scan your ticket , if under the 20 minutes they will open on approach or if payment has been made at the kiosk or on the APP. Do not tailgate the vehicle in front of you

FAQs
Can I drop or pick someone up from the site without paying?
Yes there is a 20 minute free period and the barrier will open on approach as it will recognise your numberplate
Did you Know after the First Bus Park and Ride service ends your tickets are valid on the following First bus services.
Number 31 at - 2010, 2110, 2215, 2310 / Number 336 at - 2040, 2140, 2240.
Monday to Saturday from Chelmsford only at the following Park and Ride stops: Duke St Careers Office, New London Rd, Parkway
Can I use my Concessionary bus pass on the Park and Ride?
Travel is £1.60 return at all times, for holders of a valid English Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) Pass.
Holders of disability related concessionary passes and, where eligible, their companion, £1.60 before 9am (Mondays to Fridays) , Free at any other time.
How many can I have in my group?
Group tickets are for up to 2 adults and 3 children (arriving in the same car)
Can I take my dog/pet on the bus?
Disabled passengers are allowed to travel with their guide, assistance or hearing dog. The passenger must comply with any instructions given by the driver. The carrying of other dogs is allowed if they are well behaved.
What should I do if I think I have left something on one of the Park and Ride services?
Go into the site office or email essexparkandride@essex.gov.uk
Can I walk up and use the park and ride
Yes, you can board the bus at any stop on the route
Can I collect my vehicle after the site is closed?
Please note: Cars can exit the site after closing automatically through the barrier system with their First Bus ticket or if Park only once payment has been made the barrier will open on approach.
Parking only
If you are not using the First bus service and use an alternative or just parking only at site you must purchase a Park only ticket either via Mobon App 120003 or at the kiosk located near the building prior to returning to your car. Daily Cost £3.60
Park and Pedal
Bring your bike with you, leave your car at the site and cycle to your destination. Park and Pedal is £3.60 per day payable at the kiosk located near the building. We have bike racks should you chose to leave your bike at site overnight. We also offer Secure cycle lockers £20 per month, which includes free parking. Please visit Bikeaway to secure your locker.
No overnight parking is permitted at site.
Essex County Council shall not be liable for injury to any person unless caused by the negligence of the Council nor for any theft or damage of whatever kind to any vehicle or its contents whilst on this car park. All vehicles are parked at owner’s risk
